Decorative Concrete Ideas to Make Your Neighbors Jealous

Need to repair your driveway? Don't settle for the same boring driveway you've always had--and that everyone else in the neighborhood has, too. Have you seen driveways with designs such as a pattern of squares or even driveways that are stained different colors? Concrete driveways offer you all of these decorative options and more.

Design Options

Adding a simple border can create visual interest, and did you know that color can be added to certain portions of a pattern to make it stand out even more? Geometric patterns aren't your only option, either. Did you know that concrete driveways can be engraved? Engraving can be done over the entire surface of the driveway, or you could have a large focal point. A circular design will always stand out.

Driveway "aprons" are a great way to add a more sophisticated design element while remaining on a budget. These aprons are usually the area of your driveway from the street to the sidewalk, but if you have a long driveway, they can extend as far as you'd like.

A Long-Term Investment

Just remember: concrete driveways can last up to thirty years so it's an investment worth making. A unique driveway can boost the curb appeal of your home.

When you are upgrading your driveway, it's a great time to think about your patio as well. Take this opportunity to go beyond sealing cracks. Wouldn't a new concrete patio designed to match your new entryway make your home more inviting? This will make your house stand out from the crowd, especially if you live in a planned community.

Suffering from a case of driveway envy or just ready to take your curb appeal to the next level? Have a great idea for the design of your new concrete driveway yet? Contact us, and let's talk about your options!

Wow, I never knew there were so many ways to decorate a driveway to make it look impressive. I had always thought that driveways were always going to be this boring strip of concrete near your garage that's only use is to make sure your car has a safe place to enter and exit from. This article opened up my mind to a lot of potential ideas, so I'll start looking for concrete contractors in the area and see if they can help me pull this off.

The hollow concrete block has long been a popular construction material for both architecture and landscape, whether it's named breezeblocks, screen blocks, cinder blocks, textile blocks, or even Besser blocks (here in Australia). Hollow concrete blocks have been manufactured and used in the United States and the United Kingdom since the 1860s, when they were developed as a more cost-effective alternative to solid concrete blocks.
